Jonathan Saunders stands in Hutton South by-election

A by-election has been called in the ward of Hutton South (which comprises the Three Arches, Newham, and Thriftwood estates and Hutton Mount) following the death of Councillor Mark Reed, to be held on Thursday 2nd October. Last year, the lowest-placed Conservative candidate received 698 votes, and the highest-placed Labour candidate received 464 votes, giving them a real scare.

A former Conservative councillor, Thomas Bridge, is standing again for them, while another former Conservative councillor, most recently a Talk TV personality, Russell Quirk, is standing for Reform. I need your help to put up a fight against them as our candidate.

There are two ways you can help me:

  1. Door-knocking is proven to be the most effective method to win votes. We target those who have either supported Labour before or are identified as being a likely supporter. Sessions are an hour and a half and you will be given instructions and paired up if you wish.
  2. Leafletting is also helpful for making sure members of the public we do not get around to speaking to are still aware we are the alternative to the Conservatives and Reform. You can either join us for group sessions on Wednesdays, or we will arrange a time to deliver as many rounds as you like (each one is about 100-150 houses) to your address.

Please fill out this form to let me know your availability. Door-knocking sessions will be confirmed on our WhatsApp community 24 hours in advance, provided we have sufficient sign-ups. If your availability changes or you have any questions, just give me a WhatsApp message on 07956679623.
